I have a Phidget 1048_0 temperature sensor plugged USB into a windows 8.1 laptop running
the latest Artisan. That works. But I'm trying to log roasts on two computers
simultainiously. The second computer is an iPad running RoastMaster. Roastmaster already
works in this configuration, but then Artisan won't get data so I can't datalog
simultaniously. Phidgets support said it may need a special setting in Artisan, so that
Artisan gets it's data via wifi (Phidget WebService) even though it's plugged in
USB to the Phidget. Phidgets support says to open via WebService you need to replace your
open calls with openRemote calls. I don't know what that means. ... Aaron

Phidgets support is right. You need to start the Phidgets WebServices on the computer the
1048 is connected to via USB. This will make them accessible via this WebService. In
Artisan you need to access them via the Network function. Go to menu Config >>
Device, Phigets tab, click the flag at the button in the Network area, put in the correct
ServerId of your Web Service and if set, the correct password. Now Artisan is accessing
this server to connect to Phidgets (via openRemote calls;).
