quick question, thinking of setting up a Huky 500T and getting Artisan.
I read through the quick set up blog and looking through the supported roasters, the Huky
500 does not show up .. and yet I also saw your blogpost re. automating the Huky.
Well, under the supported roasters are machines listed that come with all required
hardware to plug-and-play with Artisan.
The Huky needs to be equipped with a meter like a Center/Voltcraft or any other device
supported by Artisan (listed under Supported Devices).
Can you please advise?
Also, I’d like to set it up with either the phidget 1048 or the Vint you described in the
I’m not as electronically savvy as you :) and don’t think I would also add the slider for
the airflow control ( although it makes a lot of sense .. but I get lost in set ups
which of the two would you recommend the 1048 or the Vint?
Phidgets are a good choice as they are simple to setup, communicate fast direct via USB,
do not require an extra power supply or battery, and deliver a high-quality signal. The
1048 might be the better choice for you as it is just one box instead of the two you need
for the VINT setup and you do not plan to add control. The 1048 delivers also a slightly
less-noisy signal than the VINT TMP1101.
Setup is simple. Install the current Phidget v22 driver for your operating system on your
PC, install Artisan, connect the 1048 via USB to the PC and screw in those two k-type
(ungrounded!) Thermocouples on the other side. On the Artisan side you only need to choose
"Phidget 1048 4xTC 01" from the meter popup under menu Config >> Devices,
1st tab and you are ready to go.
Hope this helps,
I would to start off anyway, simply use the 2
thermocouples ET & BT
PS : have an manual dimmer switch slider attached to the fan though :)
