I read that the optically isolated Victor 86B is compatible with Scope,
while others say Scope do not work with USB HID devices, such as the Victor
My Victor 86B shows up in the device manager under USB HID devices in win 7.
In Artisan 2.0.0 Scope config devices is set to Meter/Victor 86B after
which a port config window appears to select a com port.
I have installed the CP210X driver, and would expect a virtual comport to
show up, when the Victor 86B is connected, but that does not seem to happen.
Any suggestions to cure the problem, please let me know.
Alternatively, for two K-type sensors, which optically isolated solution is
the choice for Artisan Scope 2.0.0, please.

Is there a keyboard shortcut or macro or a button to map to turn on and off the "Playback Events" of the Background Profile rather than go thru menu system? I'm on a Mac and currently I'm hitting Command B and then clicking on the box, but it's clumsy in the midst of a roast. As I try to refine my ROR I use the Bkg. Roast for where I like and then stop playback for where I need to make corrections. With this methodology a dedicated button like those for Air and Heat would be perfect. Thanks in advance!

Our new 3 kg roaster from Taiwan has a proprietary roasting software.
We'd be more than happy to add it to Artisan.
What is the process? Can we make it as machine users or the cooperation with the manufactures of the roaster is necessary?
Meantime we can export csv profile files.
What is the way to deal with the files?
Is there a kind of converter?
I have recently purchased the above roaster and installed the latest 2.4 software on the Mac but cannot seem to get the MAC to display basic information from the roaster to generate a profile curve. I have configured Artisan to operate wit the above roaster and assume the required USB driver is available with OSX.
Is there some deeper configuration I need to do to get this working?
Thank you Frans for directing me here. I am encountering a Modbus error scenario that I hope someone may be able to help me with.
I am running Artisan 2.4 on a Mac and trying to measure temp (and eventually control my simple home made electric roaster)
I have a Fuji PXG4 PID connected via RS 485 to a DTech RS485 / usb2 convertor.
Artisan/Mac OS recognizes the Comm port as: FT232R USB UART and I have set the Fuji PID to the necessary settings I have gleaned online:
Station no: 1,
Baud Rate: 9600 (I have also tried 19200),
Parity: N (I have also tried Even and odd).
The TXD LED light on the USB convertor lights up to indicate that Artisan is sending data but the RXD LED light does not. I downloaded a program called Serial which, I believe lets me change the Baud rate of the USB convertor. I have matched the Baud Rate settings on it to the settings on the FUJI PID and Artisan.
Having adjusted to what I *think* are the correct settings on both the Device Page and Serial Page of Artisan, the main interface tells me that the serial port settings are still set to 115200. No matter what I change in the Port Settings page it seems to tell me that Baud Rate is still at 115200.
I press start, it says 'connected via Modbus', hangs on that for a couple of seconds and then says 'Modbus Communication error' and temperature readings remain at -1.
If its helpful to note, I was trying to do this on an earlier version of Artisan last week and the message I received there was that only 1 out of 8 bytes were being received (or something along those lines)
I hope that is somewhat clear. any help much appreaicted!

I'm able to roast with artisan graphing the profile, but when done the
labels aren't saved. the file looks like the graphics attached. Where do I
go to change this?

I use the last 32bit version of Artisan, works fine for what I need.
While roasting a batch today, the ET thermocouple for some reason got
temporarily disconnected, from 03:12 to 03:16.
Probably a short of something I have to look into ... 8^7
The thing is that at 03:12, 03:14 and 03:16 I the 'Roast Properties'
'Data' tab shows an ET value of -1 which is represented on the graph as a
nice deep *drop*.
I made a copy of the *.alog file and attempted to change those three
values to a reasonable set between the last good reading (237) and the
next good reading (242) but once edited and saved the file opens up empty.
ie: no graph.
Is there a *safe* process to edit the *.alog file data?
I'd like to get the annoying drop off the graph.
