The info you provide is very terse.
“SF6” is probably http://www.sanfranroaster.com/sf-6lb <http://www.sanfranroaster.com/sf-6lb>
And “Watlow" I assume to mean http://www.watlow.com/products/controllers/temperature.cfm <http://www.watlow.com/products/controllers/temperature.cfm>
My hunch is you maybe just connected the cables without making sure that variables like baud speed, even/uneven, parity, stopbits are all set exactly the same on both ends.
SF should be providing that info / assistance in their manuals / service desk.

Dear Marko,
Is it planned in near future Artisan SW Versions to have the option
viewing and monitoring (sliders, buttons etc.) ET/BT curves in real
time via one’s mobile phone?
Looking forward to your reply.

Hello,
I have been trying to update our current version of Artisan from v0.7.4 to v0.9.9
I am currently using a Mac with OS X El Capitan.
When I load v0.9.9 and try to open in the same way as v0.7.4 in mac settings nothing happens.
No matter what I try I can’t seam to get it to open.
If you are able to help that would be most appreciated.
I would be more that happy to make a donation to Artisan as we are a business.
Thanks
Danny

The "scan for ports" button is gone in the recent version and has been integrated into the popup. On opening the popup the scan for ports is done automatically. If you cannot see the port for your device, your USB2serial driver is not correctly installed, or you have a driver conflict.
The factory USB2serial driver cable of the Omega is based on the FTDI. On El Capitan you don't need to install an FTDI driver as it is integrated by Apple into the system. However, if you did instal the FTDI driver, both drivers might conflict.

Hi there,
I am having trouble getting Artisan to recognize my Omega HH506RA. The
HH506RA is hooked up to my computer with a USB cable. I use a 2015 Macbook
pro with OS El Capitan and have followed the installation instructions
found on http://coffeetroupe.com/artisandocs/installation/
While attempting to configure the serial port number, I realized that there
is no "Scan for Ports" button as shown in the installation instructions.
How can I figure out which comm port to use?
Cheers,
Wes
Hi Chris,
There are at least two experienced Hottop users on the mailing list, so you might get help.
Meanwhile I think that if you are more specific, you can expect more specific help.
You could say exactly which version of Artisan you use, which version of the Hottop, in what configuration. You write “I have gone through the setting” but you do not say exactly what settings and which configuration settings you selected for what. You could send along your settings file, some essential screen snapshots of settings, some specifics about the connections, etcetera.
Best,
Frans
