Hi all,
we just uploaded the first beta of the next major version of Artisan to its Google Code page.
See the just established Artisan blog that gives some hints on the changes.
We will regularly post to that blog short explanations of features that are not that obvious (like setting the time of a default event like FCe to 0:00 to remove it, or updating an events time by right-clicking the BT curve in the profile).
Please report issues you encounter with this version or suggestions for the further development of Artisan.
The Artisan team
Hi.
You can make custom new buttons with the settings you want. Go to
Config/Events/Buttons
If
you now hit the button [Defaults] it will create 40 buttons (1 to 10
for all the Events). You can make appear the custom buttons ON/OFF with
the keyboard letter 'b'
Cheers

Subject: [Artisan-user] Event button.
Hi Artisan,
Started using your software this weekend with a mod'd HotTop roaster
(BT and ET added). Especially like seeing where a roast is headed
with the linear projection.
Question about Events. It appears when using the Event button I need
to press event to generate an event. Then choose the type of event
(eg: power) and level (eg: 5) and press update.
Often times I know the power or fan adjustment I will be making and
would like to be able to preconfigure the event type drop down (power,
fan, ...) and level (0-10) and press Event - thereby saving the step
of Event, configure, update. I'd be happy to dive into the code and
make the change, was curious if you are open to it?
Thanks, Matt.

I’m taking delivery on a new San Franciscan Roaster and they currently have a WATLOW display. They said they might be able to change it out with a Fuji, but I’m trying to figure out how that signal would get from the device to my Mac. I'd like to keep it all as seamless as possible, so I'd like to avoid have another device, such as an Omega, in the middle of things.
Any thoughts on the best setup for this?

Hello,
I am trying to connect my logging device, a Novus myPClab to Artisan (http://novusautomation.co.uk/acatalog/myPCLab.html)
It should be compatible because Artisan is compatible to serial2usb loggers like myPClab and is also compatible with Modbus RTU, like myPClab.
I am not very skilled in software, drivers, controllers, electronics, etc. and I can’t manage Artisan to communicate with myPClab. It is said in Artisans website (http://code.google.com/p/artisan/) that one can choose Modbus RTU devices for ET/BT logging, but I can't see the option Modbus RTU in my Artisan version, which is last 0.5.6 released.
Any idea, please?
Thanks for your help!
Best Regards,
David
