Can you give a brief description on how the auto charge check box functions.
Also when I should be picking the align button. It would be nice if when
the auto charge check box is picked it also automatically aligned to zero or
to a background profile. Right now, after I charge I have to go back to
the roast/background/align button to get things to align right at a time
when I should be paying attention to my roaster.
I've encountered difficulties with 15 sec or so added to my roast curve (it
gets bumped to the right) when using the auto charge function. This might
have been because I was still selecting the charge button when I dropped the
beans into the roaster.
Thanks,

Hi all,
There is a new version of artisan (v0.5.6) that fixes the communication with the Voltcraft K201 and Center 302 devices as well as some other minor bugs. We are now working on a v0.6.x version that will renew several internal libraries and add some new features like generic support for Modbus devices.

Please report all issues via GoogleCode or this mailing list.
The Artisan team
So it talks modbus? Just reading simple BT/ET values from modbus RTU devices will be directly supported by Artisan v0.6. So no need to write your own PY program device for that case (PY program devices in Artisan support only the reading of BT/ET values any way). Based on this modbus support, the PID part of Artisan could easily be generalized to let users configure the PID setup by specifying registers.
